When I was young, I remember searching through the mail for a couple of weeks before my birthday.  I loved to see my name on the outside of the envelope and reading the comedic cards.  I guess the money on the inside wasn't too bad either.  And do you remember Christmas?  Our wall was decorated at that time of year with the families of our friends' and relatives' personalized Christmas cards wishing us a "Happy Holidays".

Does an online greeting card have the same effect as a one that can be held between hands?  I'm not yet convinced.  Although they are great for little occasions, traditions such as recieving christmas greeting cards are hard to break.  And can you imagine being eight years old and having to check your email to see whether your grandparents had sent your birthday?

I personally believe that online greeting cards are great.  They make it simple to wish your friends well and to check up on distant family.  It will be interesting to see whether the postman or the internet delivers our "Season Greetings" cards in the future.
